I stumbled upon this site awhile back that exhibited a great collection of vintage photographs, each with their own category. My favorites are the Photo Booth section or the On The Limits Of Memory section which exhibit slightly distorted images. But feel free and explore the main site for a variety of different categories. Who knows, you might find a relative?

I am officially obsessed with the new application on the iphone called "Shazam". (What, you thought I was talking about the girl?) It actually listens to music, any music, and then instantly tells you the song, the artist, and gives you the video on you tube! It also allows you to download it from itunes which is just smart business. I'm not really doing it justice, you have to see it work, it's pretty freakin' ridiculous. Anyway, I totally bored my friends to death the other night at Habana Outpost as every song the dj played I would "tag" with my phone. They probably thought I was a complete loser, but when they want to listen to some kick ass R&B you know who they'll call. . . . . . . . well, after all their black friends. . . . . . . and some of their white friends that played college basketball. Yeah thats right, they'll call me! Above is an image of Thais from today's shoot. View the story here. It's making me want to go right back to Habana and have margarita and their amazing corn on the cob! One of these days I'm going to get myself back to Miami.

Here is another look from Saturday. It's amazing how a different light source can totally change how a person looks. The problem arises when you try to interweave both lighting scenarios into one cohesive story. Thats where things can get tricky.

It was extremely warm yesterday afternoon for my shoot with Ruthie. But, on the other hand, the light was fantastic! We went down to this little park by my apt, the only problem was that it required us to go back up 5 flights of stairs every time we changed looks. But we survived and shot some cool looks on a cool looking girl.

You know it's hot outside when your air conditioner is sweating. I woke up this morning to find a pool of water and from my AC right next to the stairs that lead up to my room. And for those of you who have been to my apt you know that's not a good thing. The water seemed to also run down the wires and over the outlet, that's probably not a good thing either. Hopefully it cools down a little this evening for my shoot. I scheduled it based on light, but that also winds up being the hottest part of the day, oh, and it's outside. Wish me luck! On a separate note, I've been going through some old images on my hard drive and came across this image of my grandfather and his friends probably taken during the depression. My grandfather is the second in from the right. Getting your photo taken back then must have been a pretty special occasion.

It has come to my attention that a recent post (that has since been taken down) may have offended some people. My goal was not to offend, rather to point out that some people on the beach at Coney Island were not in the best of shape (myself included). I did see a 350 lb man is what appears to have been a speedo, but who am I to judge. I was also critical of the music I heard on the beach that reminded me of that annoying optimum online commercial. But in my defense, the news had a whole segment on how advertisers use annoying ads like that one specifically and the "Head On" commercial as a tool to get people to pay attention to their product, (which I guess works because I'm talking about it right now). I did however enjoy the music festival (which was filled with tons of cute, cool people in all shapes and sizes) and again, I'm sorry if my words may have offended anyone, as it was not my intention.

I recently noticed my web traffic had doubled! I found out that many of the hits had come from this site. Check it out! They feature not only photographers, but some pretty amazing stylists, make-up artists and magazines! Above is a shot of my roommate Holly and I at the Brazilian girls concert in Prospect Park (I really need to get some lighter weight sunglasses).

A "Thank You" to whomever thought enough about my work to include it on this site. I visit it on a daily basis for inspiration, and it was nice to go on this evening and be inspired by a collection of my own images! It was also nice that my images made it without showing a single nipple. So keep in mind that when you visit the main site, you very well might see a nipple or 2. On a separate note, here are a couple shots from my shoot on Saturday with Agnesa. You can see a few more images here.

One is an actor/producer, one is a producer/director, and one is a little sweaty/hairy (Magnum PI would be proud). The hairy part I'll blame on the weight of the sunglasses, and the sweaty part I'll blame on manning the grill on an 87 degree, humid summer day in NYC. Derek just moved to NY and Todd is here for the summer producing a reality TV show. It's nice to be able to reciprocate the hospitality that they have shown me in LA with a good old fashioned summer time BBQ on the roof.

I thought for awhile whether I should comment on the tragic death of Ruslana last week. News of her passing upset me dearly and I found it difficult to discuss with even family and friends. However, I had a number of people ask me about whether I knew her or had photographed her. I photographed her numerous times during fashion week, here are 2 from Fall 2006. I liked her because instead of all the blank stares I usually get from over exhausted models, she exhibited a personality, a wink, and then a smile during a candid shot while being interviewed. I'm not a writer, so I won't espouse at length on this tragedy, I wouldn't do it justice. I just wanted to share these images with you now that a little time has passed.

Remember when I said all that stuff about enjoying the rain and not complaining? Yeah, I take that back. At least when it comes to the 4th of July. That's a day where a nice, dry, sunny day is most appreciated. Especially when I have to stand outside and man the grill while everyone else ducks for cover. Those burgers aren't going to cook themselves! I spent today's rain storm inside re-touching a couple of my shoots from the past week. Above is a shot of Vanessa. Check out more images here!

It's once again time for the annual 331 4th of July BBQ on the Roof!!! I spent the morning at Whole Foods getting all the goods for the cookout when I passed this Statue Of Liberty in Union Square all clad in White Sox silver and black. This photo is currently being circulated among the higher ups in the White Sox front office thanks to Frank Christiano and the Bertucci Boys. Now if you'll excuse me I have to finish my rooftop itunes mix and go get more ice, (you can never have too much ice).
