My Apologies
It has come to my attention that a recent post (that has since been taken down) may have offended some people. My goal was not to offend, rather to point out that some people on the beach at Coney Island were not in the best of shape (myself included). I did see a 350 lb man is what appears to have been a speedo, but who am I to judge. I was also critical of the music I heard on the beach that reminded me of that annoying optimum online commercial. But in my defense, the news had a whole segment on how advertisers use annoying ads like that one specifically and the "Head On" commercial as a tool to get people to pay attention to their product, (which I guess works because I'm talking about it right now). I did however enjoy the music festival (which was filled with tons of cute, cool people in all shapes and sizes) and again, I'm sorry if my words may have offended anyone, as it was not my intention.

New Synthesis

I recently noticed my web traffic had doubled! I found out that many of the hits had come from this site. Check it out! They feature not only photographers, but some pretty amazing stylists, make-up artists and magazines! Above is a shot of my roommate Holly and I at the Brazilian girls concert in Prospect Park (I really need to get some lighter weight sunglasses).

de Mode

A "Thank You" to whomever thought enough about my work to include it on this site. I visit it on a daily basis for inspiration, and it was nice to go on this evening and be inspired by a collection of my own images! It was also nice that my images made it without showing a single nipple. So keep in mind that when you visit the main site, you very well might see a nipple or 2. On a separate note, here are a couple shots from my shoot on Saturday with Agnesa. You can see a few more images here.

New New Yorkers

One is an actor/producer, one is a producer/director, and one is a little sweaty/hairy (Magnum PI would be proud). The hairy part I'll blame on the weight of the sunglasses, and the sweaty part I'll blame on manning the grill on an 87 degree, humid summer day in NYC. Derek just moved to NY and Todd is here for the summer producing a reality TV show. It's nice to be able to reciprocate the hospitality that they have shown me in LA with a good old fashioned summer time BBQ on the roof.

A Wink And A Smile

I thought for awhile whether I should comment on the tragic death of Ruslana last week. News of her passing upset me dearly and I found it difficult to discuss with even family and friends. However, I had a number of people ask me about whether I knew her or had photographed her. I photographed her numerous times during fashion week, here are 2 from Fall 2006. I liked her because instead of all the blank stares I usually get from over exhausted models, she exhibited a personality, a wink, and then a smile during a candid shot while being interviewed. I'm not a writer, so I won't espouse at length on this tragedy, I wouldn't do it justice. I just wanted to share these images with you now that a little time has passed.

Remember When?

Remember when I said all that stuff about enjoying the rain and not complaining? Yeah, I take that back. At least when it comes to the 4th of July. That's a day where a nice, dry, sunny day is most appreciated. Especially when I have to stand outside and man the grill while everyone else ducks for cover. Those burgers aren't going to cook themselves! I spent today's rain storm inside re-touching a couple of my shoots from the past week. Above is a shot of Vanessa. Check out more images here!

Happy 4th of July!!!

It's once again time for the annual 331 4th of July BBQ on the Roof!!! I spent the morning at Whole Foods getting all the goods for the cookout when I passed this Statue Of Liberty in Union Square all clad in White Sox silver and black. This photo is currently being circulated among the higher ups in the White Sox front office thanks to Frank Christiano and the Bertucci Boys. Now if you'll excuse me I have to finish my rooftop itunes mix and go get more ice, (you can never have too much ice).
